Training and Development
The nature of our business means that our operations are dependant on the competence, ability and experience of our employees. George Jones remains committed to providing training and development opportunities for all our employees, and we have been recognised through Investors in People status since 2004.
Apprenticeships, mature trainees, work experience opportunities, graduate development programmes, and the in house training schemes offered by George Jones are demonstrative of these commitments, and illustrate our ongoing aim to sustain growth. We offer full training and development opportunities to all our employees, and continuously seek motivated, committed and enthusiastic candidates to undertake all manner of roles within the organisation.
Through our 360 degree annual appraisal systems we have been able to not only offer development of our employees but also recognise hidden talents within our workforce, which has enabled us to grow by promoting and developing within the business and maintain sustainability and long term careers for our People.
All our site staff receive constant Health and Safety training not only to keep them up to date with current legislation and requirements, but also to maintain their enthusiasm and competence on the job. We have many site staff that have been with George Jones since they were apprentices who have progressed and developed trough the company to become foremen, site managers and area managers.
It is George Jones policy to promote from within and we always encourage our staff to seek further training and development to increase their opportunities within the business.
Our non-operational staff range from admin assistants to office managers and have all been recruited based on their aspirations and commitment to our growing company. All staff receive and induction and orientation period when they join George Jones and work with our dedicated HR team to devise a training and development plan.
